Your boekinplank is made of wood that has an FSC certificate This guarantees you and us that we use wood that has been responsibly sourced from sustainably managed forests and/or wood that has been recycled.

Of course we ship your boekinplank as safely and efficiently as possible in cardboard boxes made from recycled paper.

All our boekinplanks are produced in the Netherlands by a local woodworking company. This way we prevent unnecessary travel kilometers, high CO2 emissions and long waiting times.

Are you ordering a boekinplank in one of our colors? Then you can be assured that we have used a high-quality, resistant and water-based paint, with as little toxic substances (which can be found in every type of quality paint) as possible.

At boekinplank we use almost every square centimeter of a sheet of wood. This way we ensure that we produce as little waste as possible. Our leftovers? We use them to experiment with new products. Or we take them to a local childcare center, where primary school children use them to make great stuff, too.

The most sustainable thing of course is to make or buy nothing at all. But that would make life a bit boring, if you ask us.

Every boekinplank is made to last a very long time. So no mass-produced junk that quickly ends up in the trash. But something you can enjoy for many years. And that, in our eyes, is the most sustainable thing besides making nothing at all.
