privacy & cookie statement

Of course, boekinplank, an initiative of Jeroen Konings Producties, trading under the name boekinplank, respects the privacy of visitors and users of its website www.boekinplank.nl ("Website"), and the privacy of its customers who place an order through our Website. This policy sets out what information we collect in the context of the use of our Website and from you as a website visitor and customer, and how we further use and protect this information. Boekinplank is responsible for the processing of your data.

1. Applicability

This Privacy and Cookie Policy ("Policy") applies to every Website, website visit, transaction and any agreement entered into through the Website. Any information, including your personal data, that we collect about you during your visit and/or use of our Website will be treated in accordance with this Policy and the purposes and principles described herein. This Policy does not apply to other companies' websites that link to our Website or to which a link appears on our Website.

2. Information we collect

Boekinplank enables you to order a finished or custom-made bookshelf, cabinet, rack or stand online and have your order delivered to the address of your choice. In the context of our services, we may collect your data in two ways:

Data provided by you

Boekinplank collects data provided by you, such as your email address and password when you visit the Website and/or register as a new customer when ordering your Boekinplank. To do this, we ask for your first name, last name, email address and a password. You can also add your details yourself via your account. It is possible to save your address, telephone number and email address, so that you can place your order faster. In addition, you can indicate how you know Boekinplank. We also collect your order details such as your name, (delivery and invoice) address, telephone number and payment details when you place an order with us (and, if the order is sent to someone else, the name and address details of the recipient for whom the order is intended). Your email address will be used to send your order confirmation and tracking information. Your phone number will only be used as a last resort, for example if your order cannot be delivered or the courier cannot find the shipping address. Personal data is also collected by participating in our competitions or when you give us your opinion, for example by writing a review about Boekinplank or a Boekinplank product. In addition to creating an account, we may also collect your email address separately when you sign up for our newsletter via the Website.

Information We Collect Automatically

Boekinplank also collects information we receive based on your use of our services, such as your visit to our Website and possibly other websites accessible from our Website. For example, we collect your IP address and the type of browser you use, as well as the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit or use, and how you use our Website. This is to optimize the user experience and customer needs of the website.

3. How do we use your data?
Your data may be used for the following purposes:

Acceptance, processing and fulfillment of your order

Your data will be used to process, execute, produce and deliver your order to the address of your choice. With your details, we will also keep you informed of the progress of your order. We may pass on your data to other companies that perform certain services on our behalf. Examples include: a third party engaged by us to produce your order; a carrier such as PostNL to be able to ship and deliver your order; online payment service providers such as IDEAL or PayPal to be able to process your (credit card) payment; service providers to be able to send our emails or other forms of customer communications; any marketing analytics companies to analyze our data or remove duplicate data from our database; and providing our Customer Service.

Managing your account

You can create your own account on our Website. In this account, we store your name, (delivery and invoice) address, telephone number and your email address, among other things.
We also store information about your previous orders that you've placed, so you can find your products faster and view, share, or reorder.

Direct marketing, co-branded offers and sending newsletters

If you have placed an order with us, we may use your data for direct marketing purposes in order to send you commercial information or an offer about our products and services via email, direct mail or other media. This information or offers may also be co-branded in collaboration with a partner or affiliate and may include products or services from such third parties. You can sign up for our newsletter which is sent by email or direct mail. This way you will be informed about special offers and our new or additional products and services.

Maintenance, statistical analysis and improvement of our services

We are constantly striving to improve our services. To do this, we use third-party analytical software, such as Google Analytics and Hotjar. With this analytical software, we place cookies to keep track of general visitor data and receive reports on how our services are used. In this context, we register data via the Website, such as the language settings of your browser, the date and time of your visit or use and which products you view.
In addition, we may use your data to ask you if you would like to participate in a non-binding customer or market survey. Sometimes other companies carry out this research on behalf of us. We will then provide such companies with your email address or phone number, which will of course also comply with this Policy!

Fraud

We use our customer data to investigate, prevent and combat fraud. We have a legitimate interest in doing so. If we are requested to access our customer data on the basis of a legal obligation to do so, for example in the context of a criminal investigation, we will comply and pass on the requested data to the relevant authority or investigative body.

Improvement of our service

In order to be able to help you quickly with questions, we may use your data such as your name and your order number. We may take notes during the conversation with you, to record why you contacted us and what solution we gave you. Such data relating to our service will also be retained by us. This is useful if you contact us another time. If you contact our customer service team via email, social media or live chat, we may record and store the conversation for quality monitoring and training purposes. In this way, you will help us analyze and improve our customer service.

If the processing of your data is only based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time. From that moment on, we will stop this processing.

We will not store your data longer than is necessary for the above purposes, unless we are legally obliged to keep the data. This means that the retention period may differ per personal data and per purpose.

Boekinplank may also engage third parties for the purposes as set out above, whereby your personal data may be processed as part of your data. We only make your data available to third parties as mentioned above. This is done only for purposes described in or compatible with this Policy.

These partners or service providers working with us, or any other type of (sub)processor engaged by them, may be located in countries outside the European Union and your data may therefore be transferred to countries outside the European Union.
